[PAR] Scheduled network path failover test in the Paris region
Completed:
As part of our ongoing network resilience work, we will conduct a controlled failover test on a network path connecting two Availability Zones (AZs) within the Paris region.
The purpose of this operation is to verify the effective behavior of the redundant path and reconcile observed traffic behavior with the intended failover design. Engineers will monitor routing, traffic convergence, and service connectivity throughout the test.
No significant disruption is expected. However, in the event of unexpected convergence behavior, some services relying on connectivity between these Availability Zones may experience partial connectivity loss lasting up to approximately one minute.
EDIT 2026-07-17 22:06 CEST:
The maintenance will begin shortly. During the operation, the primary network link between two Availability Zones in the Paris region will be intentionally taken out of service for a few minutes to confirm that traffic is correctly rerouted through the secondary link.
Our engineers will closely monitor routing and service connectivity throughout the test. If any unexpected impact is detected, the primary path will be restored immediately. Some dependent services may experience partial connectivity loss for up to approximately one minute.
EDIT 2026-07-17 23:07 CEST
The maintenance has been completed after a one-hour validation window. During this period, several controlled failover and failback cycles were performed.
No connectivity interruption was detected, and traffic consistently switched between the primary and secondary links in less than one second. The expected network resilience between the two Availability Zones has been successfully validated.
